The Aldbourne 10k was first run in 1998, as part of fund-raising for the St Michael's "Old Schoolroom" restoration charity. The Dabchicks RFC took on the event in 1999 with a lot of work undertaken by Dave & Sue Paulin and Dave Jordan. Following Dave & Sue's emigration to New Zealand, the event lost it's momentum with no race being run between 2006 and 2010. The event has been picked up by Pam Millington and is back on the map for 2010.

The winner in 1998 (Andrew Hawkins, Bristol AC) came in with a time of 34:00 dead, which remained the course recorduntil 2006 and the ladies event was won by Susan Baigent, in a time of 40:48.
