The annual Aldbourne 10k road race will be held this year, 2006, on Sunday 10th September and starts at 11.00 am. The course is certified for accuracy by and run under a permit from, the South of England Athletics Association and is classed as grade 2 course. This is a major event in the local athletics calendar.

The course is scenic and challenging with several steep inclines and is open to runners of all abilities. The route takes competitors through the rural Wiltshire countryside in and around the picturesque village of Aldbourne.

Entries are open to individuals and teams with prizes awarded in each category. This year's event takes place five weeks before the Swindon half-marathon and is an ideal warm-up for competitors planning to take part in that event.

In addition to the main event, there is a supervised 1k children's fun run. A BBQ, bar and disco will all be available to make it a fun day out for the whole family.
